Both are extremely good for solos, rev has insane evasive capabilities and some good protective skills, while mesmer has clones/phantasms, blinks, invulns, short stealths. I guess it boild down to personal preference. Even if I'm currently learning mesmer because i find it interesting mechanic-wise, i prefer revenant.
The right mouse button will always align your character to the camera when moving (mouse-steer). That's something you can't change. The left button, on the other hand, lets you pan the camera without changing the direction your character is moving.
