(ACKCSC, Inc.) is the American Kennel Club (AKC Episodic falling syndrome (EFS) is a unique genetic disorder in the cavalier King Charles spaniel, due to a mutation of its brevican gene (BCAN). 5- moderate exercise appears to be good for these dogs (stairs especially!). Short walks are recommended. 6- be sure to keep an eye on your dog's weight. Excess weight will surely do him no good if fighting MVD. My first Cavalier, Alfred, was my first Cavalier to get into real trouble with his MVD.

The Southern Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club are sad to report that our President, Mrs Jane Bowdler (Ttiweh) has died. Jane was the daughter of Amice Pitt who is widely regarded as the founder of the breed. Among many other things Jane owned Ch Daywell Roger the first Cavalier Champion winning the very first CC for the breed in 1945.
